Scholarships

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CRITERIA
To access Resolution No. 02/PPGE/2012 governing CAPES/CNPq scholarship administration, [click here].

As we have had more applicants than scholarships available, the distribution of these often occurs in the 2nd year of the course for the Master’s degree and in the 3rd year for the Doctorate. Exceptionally, some students may be considered for the first year of the course if scholarships are available.
The criteria for the classification and application processes to the Scholarship are defined by the Scholarship Committee and approved by the PPGE Collegiate, taking into account the rules of the funding agencies of the scholarships.
Current Rules
The Scholarship Committee shall carry out the final classification and the sequence of allocation of scholarships among the different research lines by merit (ranking in the selection on each line) and by drawing of the order between the lines.
From the Ranking List in the entry selection in each research line and at each level of the Program (master’s degree and doctorate), a sequential ranking list is assembled in descending order in each line. Master’s degree makes up one group, Doctorate makes up another.

Allocation Sequence:
At a meeting of the Scholarship Committee, the order of priority of the lines to receive scholarships in each group is drawn. Following this organization, the available grants are distributed in the following order:
1st-ranked candidate from 1st-priority line → 1st-ranked from 2nd-priority line → [continues until exhaustion]. Then it starts again in the sequence of the draw and the ranking inside each researsh line.

Important:

  • Declined scholarships pass to next candidate in same line
  • Additional criteria may apply per funding agency guidelines
